Unapologetically simple, small town diner fare. The space is neat and clean, slightly run down. Service fast and friendly. My hot turkey sandwich, and poutine were warm, homey and delicious. The slab of peanut butter pie, the perfect conclusion. Comfort food at its best!

4 stars for excellent service. Food was quite acceptable for a small rural town. Would stop here anytime just to say hi again if nothing else. This server could become a consultant for small family restaurants !

NCFR is one of our favorites. Don't expect frills. You can expect good food at reasonable prices and friendly people. It is one of those places that is a throwback to days gone by where people still care about what they do and how they do it. We live in Lancaster and make it a point to visit NCFR frequently. It is worth the drive and worth the time.

Busted my way in first thing on a Saturday before a hike. What can I say about a breakfast. It was great. Get the homemade toast.

Stopped here while ATV'ing. Super friendly waitress and easily accommodated our large group. The food options are what you would expect from a family style restaurant and we each got something different from full entrees to burgers and appetizers and everyone was impressed. The Poutine is hands down best in the area. Save room for their peanut butter pie.

I really want give them 3.7 stars but not an option. When it comes to dining options in the North Country, not many to choose from but I will definitely go here again. Even without the lack of competition. We (4) went for lunch on a Saturday about 1:20. Place was still busy but tables were open. We were riding the ATV trails and this is accessible via the trail that went through town. It's a step up from a diner. We had burgers and clubs. All the food was what we would expect (which is good) and the burger was cooked just right. Never an easy thing to find. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Clean place and bathrooms. They welcomed us with our wet and muddy gear without issue (not too muddy). Bottom line: good lunch, decent prices, welcoming and friendly and not touristy. We will be back:) We still need to find decent pizza next trip. What we had was passable but not good.
We have become regulars for pizza takeout! Our go to is the Big Mac Pizza, Buffalo Chicken, and Pepperoni!! They are delicious. Always loaded and normal wait time as any other restaurant!
